CHALLENGE: BAT – Yard Management System

COUNTRY: Brasil

PAIN POINTS: Lack of inbound process visibility impacting planning time, capacity and decision taking

KEY CRITERIAS: Visual management with real time data – optimize the operation efficiency and enable the schedule of inbound receiving windows

EXPECTED OUTCOME: (UX) System integration for YMS information – automated decision taking – software capable of yard visibility, vehicle tracking and delivery schedule

BUSINESS CONTEXT/ ACTIVITY SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES: BAT Operations Supply team has been facing some difficulties regarding inbound process visibility, directly impacting and increasing the planning time and warehouse team allocation.

This project main objective is to implement a complete YMS that will be able to act as a delivery schedule, yard management and cars tracking, optimizing every step of the process and enabling savings and automation throughout the whole process.

The automation step is not expected to be an AI, but smart enough to take simple decisions of SKU and car prioritization.

SPECIFICATIONS: (TARGET AUDIENCE, EXPECTED VISITORS, PREFERABLE LOCATION):
Brasil inbound process in Uberlândia Factory. Expected audience are Primary, Warehouse, Transport and TLB. No expected visits.The initiative should prioritize the inbound manufacturing process, with the possibility of expanding to outbound at a later stage.
